A rather less silly example of Nazisploitation, this film follows the tradition of The Night Porter and examines a complicated connection between a Nazi officer and one of his Jewish charges. In the past, a troubled Jewish prisoner called Lise catches the attention of German commandant Conrad von Starke, who becomes obsessed with her stoic ignorance of the horrors in the camp around her. Descending into a frenzy of sadomasochism and torture, Lise's relationship with Starke becomes ever more disturbing only to finally boil over in the present day. The film's controversial scenes were bound to get this film noticed and the film became one of the video nasties, despite the fact that the GO Video version was already pre-cut.
