Late Night Trains | 1975 | Italy | Aldo Lado
An Italian riff on Wes Craven’s Last House on the Left, set aboard a moving train with just as much social commentary. Margaret and Lisa are travelling by train to spend Christmas holidays with Lisa’s family. On the way, they encounter two petty hoodlums as well as a seemingly classy lady who proceed to invade their train carriage and subject them to humiliations and sexual assaults, only for them to end up dead. The trio then find themselves confronted by the girl’s father… This is another one which is quite conceptually nasty but not overly explicit. It was rejected for cinema release, so this uncut version was quickly noticed and hauled in as an obscene video.
