Famously labelled the "Strong Uncut Version", Vipco released this much-loved cult shocker on VHS to the UK public. An Italian take on Dawn of the Dead, the film follows a small group of tourists who head to the supposedly cursed island of Matool to search for one of their fathers. Instead they find a tropical undead nightmare, with freshly arisen corpses driven by the power of voodoo to consume the flesh of everyone still alive. With spectacular standout scenes including a graphic throat biting, a shark fighting a zombie underwater and the most squirm-inducing eye gouging, it was a real travesty when the DPP plucked it from our shelves.
